My Birthday Wishlist

photo taken from google images

So my Birthday is coming up & everyone has been asking me what I want & honestly I haven't really thought much into it so I decided to do a Wishlist so here a few of the items I've been Lusting over.

(1) A Nail Polish Stand or Rack - I have way to many polishes I have no idea what to do with them right now they a in storage tray's I picked up at Kmart but I would love something nice for them to sit in. I've seen a few of these Nail Polish Stands on Ebay & I wouldn't mind 1 (or 2 to fit all my polishes).

(2) Lorac Unzipped Palette -  Everyone who knows me knows how much I love neutral toned eyeshadow palettes & I don't own anything from LORAC & have wanted to try this & the PRO Palette for quite sometime now.

(3) Lorac Pro Palette - same as above :)

(4) Emily de Molly & Femme Fatale Nail Polish - My love for these polishes are growing everyday & I wouldn't mind any of these polishes.

(5) Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara - I heard so many things about this mascara & have always wanted to try this out.

(6) Konad Stamping Kit - I really want one of these. Does anyone own one? are they nice? If I don't get one which I'm sure I wont I'm probably going to buy this for myself.

(7) Flower Cosmetics by Drew Barrymore - I love Drew Barrymore & her make up collection looks so cute I'd love to own any of these products.

(8) Victor and Rolf Flowerbomb Eau De Parfum 100ml - I love this perfume I've walked past it & tried it about a million times yet never purchased it.

Happy Wednesday Everyone

Lust Have It February 2013

It's that time again.. If you follow me on Instagram (@materialgurl_88 for those who wish to follow) you would have seen that I received my Lust Have It Box for February 2013 today. As usual I feel like I am the last person to receive my box but I'm slowly getting used to that so It doesn't bother me as much as it did. This month we got an email saying that the box would be arriving in the old cardboard box & not in the new packaging which is a shame because I really like the new boxes (see here for last months post) & that one sample would be being left out & sent out with next months box which is a bit of a bummer but I do appreciate the heads up.

I know this month was a disappoint me to a lot of people here is what I got :

(1) Summer Tan by Mancine self action Tan in Dark Full Size 250ml RRP$29.95 - I know a lot of people aren't too pleased with this product & I understand why but I on the other hand don't mind it & I know I will use it as Summer slowly ends I rely on these kinds of products to help prolong or revitalize my Tan in Winter as I tend to pale up a little bit especially my legs. I think people were put of by the shade being Dark but I personally dont find it too dark this is definitely more of a medium when rubbed into the skin but It does come out of the bottle looking shockingly dark. I love the way this smells I used a little on my arm as was really impressed I will continue to use this & review it after a couple weeks of ongoing use if anyone is interested.

(2) Lon Vitalite C9 Crystal Moisturising Hand Mask 1 Pair RRP$4.50 - I'm pretty pleased with receiving this product as I've never tried anything like it before & I read a Review on the Crystal Whitening & Moisturising Hand Mask of Jasmine's Blog Sweetaholic Beauty (see her post here) so I'm definitely going to give this a try sometime this week & will post my thoughts on it :).

(3) Styli-Style L3 Timeless Lipstick in the shade LOVE Full Size RRP$19.95 -  I wasn't to impressed with this product as it's not a shade that I would particularly choose for my self though It is lovely just not for me. It's a cool toned pink with a slight shimmer I have gifted this to my Mum as she liked it & she hardly ever spends any money on herself so I think she get's excited when I gift her all my unwanted stuff from these boxes she usually comes up to me now & asks if there is anything in them I don't want that she could have :)

(4) The Natural Source Camouflage Colour Nail Lacquer Full Size 12ml RRP$9.99 - There sure are a lot of full size Items in this box. This is the last item I received & I don't quite know whether or not I like it. I love the way this applies it was pretty much opaque in 1 coat but I applied 2 coats for the photo's below. The colour is not one I would ever chose nor do I have anything like it in my collection. I tried layering glitters over it to see how it would work & I do like the way it looked under my NYX Advanced Salon Formula Nail Polish in Gold Glitter It looks weird in the photo's but in real life I loved the way it turned out.

The item that I'm missing is the Kerastase Paris Nectar Thermique so hopefully I'll get it next month :)

I do apologize for the bad quality of the photo's I've miss placed my Camera =O been too busy taken photo's of my nail polish swatches & don't know where it is so all of these were taken on my phone.

Over all I'm not overly Impressed with this box but I definitely Don't hate it I will give most of these products another try & tell you all how its goes.

What Box Did You Get?

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Plus a Sneak Peek At My Upcoming GIVEAWAY

Well the weekend is over & It's back to blogging for me :) I find it hard to Blog over the weekends as it is usually when I'm at my busiest.

Today I have Part 4 of my Nail Polish Haul's that seem to be never ending as clearly I have gone over board with buying Nail Polish lately so I've put my self on a bit of a spending ban when it comes to such things.

I've been looking around lately for some great indie made Nail Polishes that are Australian Made & Owned & I came across the Femme Fatale Cosmetics website after reading that they stock Gloss n Sparkle from Claire's Blog Sailor Klerr I had already decided I wanted to buy a Gloss n Sparkle polish but after seeing her post I knew I had to get Unicorn Droppings :)

I'd never really heard about Femme Fatale before but after going on their website I instantly knew I wanted to buy every nail polish they stocked. I think I edited my shopping cart around 4 times as I kept putting way too many polishes in & I was trying to keep to a budget I set for myself. All their products are reasonable priced & well worth it. As nail polish is a very difficult product to ship overseas they only offer to ship these items locally but they do have International Stockist as I'm sure so many people from around the world would be interested in these amazing products.

I decided on buying only 5 polishes (trust me it was hard to only pick 5) but as soon as I got my package in the mail I squealed with excitement as soon as I saw the polishes I knew instantly that I loved them. Here is what I got.
{all these polishes were purchased by me with my own money}

Gloss 'n Sparkle Unicorn Dropping 12ml RRP$10.00 - This is a lovely White Based polish with a slight Grey/Silver tint due to the fact that it is packed with tiny holographic silver glitter with a lovely mix of multi  rainbow coloured glitter. This polish is beyond gorgeous. I love everything about this polish from the Name to the way it looks on my nails. I had no issues with this at all it applied smoothly & evenly with just 2 coats with no top coat for the swatches below. (these swatches were kinda rushed but I still like the way they looked). This polish does dry slightly rough with all the glitter in it so a good top coat is needed.

Emily De Molly Sakura 12ml RRP$10.00 - This is another White based polish & it contains Hot Pink & Grey (Charcoal) Hex Glitters in Medium & Small Sizes. This applies evenly & the formula is slightly thinner than unicorn droppings & requires a good 3 coats to get a flawless finish. I love how this polish applies the glitter you get a lot of glitter in each stroke & it does a nice job sandwiching them. You could possibly get away with 2 thick coats if you wanted. For the swatches I used 3 coats alone.

Emily De Molly Ego Friendly 12ml RRP$10.00 - This is a Mint Green based polish with about 4 different shades of Green glitter as well as Light Purple Hex Glitter. I love the base colour of this polish this is a colour I'm drawn to a lot when it comes to nail polish & the mix of green glitters compliment this colour really well. This applies similar to the Sakura Polish though I do find the Glitters get a bit lost the more coats you apply but that could just be me applying the polish weirdly but I kinda like how subtle it makes the glitters look as not all people like in your face glitter type polishes. For these watches I used 3 coats alone.

Femme Fatale Skyfire 12ml RRP$9.00 - This is a Duo Chromatic Holo Polish in a Milky White Translucent base that shifts between different shades of blue from a slightly dark Purplish Blue to Aqua Blue to a Teal Blue depending on which way the light hits it. It can be worn alone or over a dark polish or over a light Blue/Aqua base to compliment the colours that reflect in the light. for the swatches I used from L to R: 1 coat over Essie Mint Candy Apple // 1 coat over Essie Where's My Chauffeur // 2 coats over Rimmel 800 Black out // 2 coats alone.

Femme Fatale Fatal Attraction 12ml RRP$9.75 - I have saved my FAVOURITE for last if it is even possible for me to pick a fav as they are all gorgeous polishes but If I had to choose this would be it. This is a beyond Gorgeous Deep Purply/Red/Pink Wine jelly based polish that makes me want to sing the "Red Red Wine" song every time I stare at my nails. It is packed with Red toned & Purple holographic glitter that has the most gorgeous sparkle I have ever seen which of course was hard to capture on my lame camera :). I used 3 coats of polish to gain this look. This polish looks just as amazing in the bottle as it does on the nail.

NYX Advanced Salon Formula Nail Polishes

Today I will be continuing my Nail Polish Haul & Swatch series this will be Part 3.
Click here for part 1 & here for part 2

I will be going through the NYX Advanced Salon Formula Nail Polishes I purchased from Cherryculture.com.

I recieved an email for a Valentines Day Special at Cherry Culture with 20% off everything so I decided to take advantage of the offer & I picked up quite a few new Polishes to add to my colleciton. These NYX polishes were already on special for $3.00 but with the 20% off they came down to $2.40 each plus shipping cost's (which I worked out to be around $1.60 per bottle) so I think that is a very good deal.

So far I'm impressed with the quality of these polishes the all apply beautifully & non streaky except for the white polish which was a little harder to work with but not impossible. All bottle have a regular sized brush which I like as it's not too big or too small. The bottles are pretty much what sold me on purchasing these as I've never heard of them before. They pretty much look like the Deborah Lippman polishes & I love the way her polishes look the bottles just look so nice all stacked up in a row.

Now on to each individual bottle I purchased.

NYX ASF 114 Surf - This is a gorgeous Turquoise colour with a lovely subtle Gold shimmer running through it. It was very hard to try & capture the shimmer in the polish but it really is a subtle shimmer (think along the lines of Essie's Bikini So Teeny). I used about 3 coats for the swatches but you could get away with 2 coats to get this colour opaque.

NYX ASF 212 Purple Glitter - This is a clear based polish with Dark Purple & Bright Purple/Pinkish Glitter. This is another one of those great fine glitter top coats like my Picture Polish Razzle Dazzle that I'm obsessed with & is best layered over another polish. The glitters are jam packed in this polish & you only need 1 coat to get a great amount of glitter. For the swatches I used 1 coat of the Purple Glitter over the NYX ASF Surf as I already had it on for this post.

NYX ASF 129 White - This is just a basic creamy white polish that was a little harder to apply to get it even but it worked in about 3 coats.

NYS ASF 156 Forever Young -
This is probably my favourite colour out of all the NYX Nail Polishes I ordered. This is a lovely Sheer Pink Jelly Polish with Gold Flakes & Gold Glitter Mixed in. I love the way this looks on the nail It's just so pretty & glittery It's a very girly colour & I love the name. I used 3 coats of this for the swatches below

NYX ASF 220 Gold Glitter - This is a sheer Yellow Jelly based polish with different sized Gold Flakes & Small Gold Glitter. Because the Yellow Base is very sheer this colour would take a lot of coats for it to be fully Opaque this polish is better used layered over another colour. For the swatched I used 2 coats alone & 2 coats over 1 coat Gold Nail Polish (just a random gold I bought from Cotton On).

This polish was very hard to Photograph as my camera tends to pick up all glares from the glitter but you can still see the effect I was going for.

NYS ASF 214 Creme Glitter - This is a Gorgeous Polish very similar to the above Gold Glitter colour except this is in an antique rose gold/ light bronze Jelly base. It has the same Gold Flakes & Small Gold Glitter as the shade 220 Gold Glitter has. For the swatches I applied 3 Coats Alone.

NYX ASF 186 Be Jeweled - This is a Blue based jelly polish with Duo Chromatic Glitter that shifts between a lovely Sea Green & Gold shimmer. This is a very Mermaid-Esqe colour & it reminds me of the ocean. I used 3 coats of this in the swatches & it does need between 3-4 coats for it to be Opaque.
